OOG Amsterdam

Creator Lucas De Man and designer Pascal Leboucq present OOG Amsterdam: an art installation for the city. An OOG is Dutch for an EYE, and this installation is exactly that. The project consists of enormous eyes hanging from different buildings in Amsterdam during the summer and fall of 2018.

Visitors can sit inside the eye. Radically secluded yet organically connected to the city, OOG offers an extraordinary audio-visual theatrical experience: an opportunity to see the city, the other and yourself from a different perspective.

OOG Amsterdam experience

The OOG installation seats one visitor at a time. A specially trained usher assists you onto the chair of the installation and secures the seatbelt. Then he slowly wheels you through the window out into the eye. There you hang outside the building.

As you look out, the installation invites you to look at the city. What do you see?

The city is not an anonymous structure. It’s made up of stories, more than of streets and stones. The audiovisual theatrical experience encourages you to really look at this city of stories. What do you see when you look around ánd when you look inside yourself. Join the journey to find out!

What?

EYE is a cross-discipline city art project combining experience performance, installation, animation, sound design and interactive elements. OOG Amsterdam is open from August 18th to October 22nd on a (almost) daily basis, at two different locations in the city.

Also the project has a social component. When you get tickets for you and your friends, we also kindly invite you to give tickets to those people of Amsterdam who really deserve to go as well. Several companies, organizations and individuals donate tickets to selected social parties.
